Ultra low power electronic paper displays based on the “rotating ball” concept have been around for over 30 years, but implementation has been limited by poor contrast and brightness. Cospheric’s hemispherically coated opaque microspheres in our proprietary containment structure enable electronic paper displays with best in class whiteness, contrast and reliability. High opacity of our microspheres enables monolayer packing of spheres, lowering the operating voltage and the cost of the display.

Cospheric achieves a high brightness display by utilizing the only truly opaque microspheres on the market made by our sister company Cospheric LLC. Opacity of each individual sphere is identical and can range from fully transparent to fully opaque in your choice of colors and particle sizes.

We produce active spheres by utilizing unique microcoating process, Cospheric is the only company in the world that does precision hemispherical microcoating of microspheres, keeping tolerances as low as 0.25micron. We create a spheres that will rotate with respect to an electric field.

We have unique encapsulating technology that makes Cospheric the only company in the world capable of fully encapsulating microstructures without blocking the movement of the active particles inside the structure while maintaining flexibility and optical clarity.

When you combine the elements above, you create a unique outdoor capable electronic paper digital display.
